Hello Everyone:

Normally I simply link excellent pages but I wanted everyone to get to know about HANS which is an excellent magazine full to the brim with interesting and useful articles. AND, even more, I wanted everyone to read this important article about, what else, water!

Source: Health Action magazine, Summer 2012 Issue

In the world of health, nutrition and wellness, there are few topics more confusing (and controversial) than water. We grapple over what type of water is best to drink, how to filter it, how much to drink, when to drink it and what minerals to add to it. And when you throw the philosophical, energetic dimensions into the mix, the subject becomes even more gnarled and tangled.

According to Sherry Strong, a Vancouver-based nutritionist and food philosopher, there is an intuitive, natural reaction that we have to water, regardless of how in tune we are with our bodies.

“From a philosophical point of view, there are many things that we get a sense of long before we can actually establish any kind of credible science,” she says. “The earth is this complex ecosystem, and, like the human body, water is like the blood that runs through it. When people taste water from a spring, they notice that it tastes different and it feels different. And they may not have the words to explain it or define it; it’s just a knowing.”

Anyone who has examined the more ethereal, energetic properties of water is likely familiar with the work of Masaru Emoto, who spent years studying how our words and thoughts can affect the physical properties of water.

Emoto conducted experiments where he exposed water to both positive and negative words, then froze the water and took pictures of the resulting crystals. Positive words like love and gratitude produced beautiful, dazzling water crystals, while negative words such as dislike and hopeless created fragmented, broken crystals.

“I think Emoto has done two important things,” says Jim McMahon, an ecologist who also owns Sweet Water, a business that sells water purification systems. “One, I think that he demonstrates that the human mind, that thoughts, produce energy. And the second thing is that water can reflect that energy.”

Philosophical arguments aside, what most experts can agree on is that water is definitely good for us. It’s no accident that our bodies are 75 percent water―and it’s the one nutrient above all others that we need to survive, and thrive. Almost everything on the earth dissolves in water, making it the universal solvent, and it’s intricately involved in practically all of our bodily functions.

“There is a connection between being dehydrated and every single chronic disease that we are facing,” says Dr. Elizabeth Wanek, a functional medicine physician in North Carolina. “To treat the disease, we have to primarily support the body being hydrated. And then we have to support the essential elements of the body as an electrical system, and as a battery, and support water primarily to flow.”

Another unique role of water is its involvement in creating electricity, carrying electrolytes around the body so energy can be generated.

“Water is what conducts the electricity, and, specifically in a human being, the flow of water is what’s generating the power on which we run,” explains Dr. Wanek. “We are a hydroelectric plant, and what we’re generating is electricity.”

In the natural world, water is constantly flowing―in rivers and streams, over waterfalls, in mountain springs, exchanging energy as it goes. As it moves through substances like rocks and sand, it also undergoes a natural filtration process, picking up certain minerals and losing others.

A water system called the vortex water revitalizer is meant to mimic the way water is found in nature. Using a spiral piece of plumbing, the system swirls the water entering your pipes. Proponents of the system claim that this process energizes and revitalizes the water, making it more hydrating and easier for our cells to absorb and assimilate it.

“Water itself, given the opportunity like in nature, will always be moving and spiralling in accordance with the universal laws,” says Mikael Lund of World Living Water Systems, who has sold vortex water systems to people in more than 50 countries. “If you expose water to a strict confinement in a straight pipe, then there’s going to be a lot of friction against the pipe walls, and the water will generate heat and then it will lose energy. The vortex water revitalizer is a life-forming energetic process, because it’s following natural flow dynamics.”

Lund says vortex water tastes better and is instantly absorbed, improves the quality of skin and hair, encourages plants to grow bigger and stronger, makes appliances last longer due to less rust and corrosion, and reduces environmental pollution because it produces water that is cleaner.

“People have a hard time believing how can water do all that,” he says. “I have a different kind of question. How come water stopped doing all those things?”

Dr. Wanek uses a combination of vortex water, fulvic acid and diet to treat her patients and has seen vortex water improve a wide variety of complaints including arthritis, diabetes, body pain, fatigue, weight gain, cravings and insomnia. “People start to feel better, very simply,” she says. “We give the water for free to people who are willing to come to my office. I had one lady, she took a gallon home and came back the next day and couldn’t believe how much different she felt. She goes, ‘This is amazing, I didn’t believe I could ever feel like this.’ There are people who try it and have an incredible experience just drinking water.”

Research continues

Is vortex water a way to bring the benefits of a mountain spring in your home? Jim McMahon says that with the amount of pollution in our waterways, the most important thing about a home water system is removing contaminants so we can drink water that is pure.

“By spinning water you are restoring its natural vibrancy, its natural energy, but whether or not revitalized water does anything for my health is unknown to me,” he says. “If water has that energy, does that somehow benefit my cells? I think intuitively, one might surmise that it does.”

From an energetic perspective, McMahon points to Emoto’s work as an illustration of how the mind on its own can influence the shape and effects of water. “What I think that Emoto has shown is that if I pour myself a glass of filtered water and I hold it in my hand, that I can modify the frequency of that water with my thoughts,” he says.

Sherry Strong says that despite all our scientific advances, we can’t always use research to explain every facet of water and its effect on human health.1

The other day I received an unsolicited e-advert (aka spam) from a large international company expounding the virtues of Brita’s take-along bottle for water: “Brita® bottles have a built-in filter so you can have great tasting tap water on the go.”

Well, that may be so, but really why would I want to have a Brita bottle that:

(1) takes up room with using a filter for tap water and

(2) needs expensive filter replacement every couple of months or even sooner?

Well, truthfully, I wouldn’t.

Now that I have my new EWO device installed on my in-coming water pipe at my home, I have always have fresh, clean, clear, crisp, cold, safe, vitalized water ALLl the time. I can fill up ANY bottle and off I go; with no expensive filters and more vitalized water.

Now that’s a REAL winner. Anyone who travels for recreation, business or pleasure can use Best Water confidently right from their own tap.

Until next time

Our second day this spring of hot weather, pushing close to 30 degrees. What a blessing to have one of those old fashioned dark brown beer bottles full of vitalized water to drink out on the deck under the umbrella. Glancing around, I spot my dog flopped out under the table. It doesn’t take me too many minutes to rouse myself enough to go get her a bowl of cold water too. Poor little old thing. She is so very grateful.

Life’s blessings are all around us. Thanks Charly!

Many areas in the interior of BC have hard water. Lime scale deposits, caused by high calcium content in the water means hard to clean stains on shower doors, glassware and other surfaces. It also wreaks havoc on dishwashers, laundry machines and in the heating elements of boilers and hot water heaters. The loss in energy efficiency is signifcant and the cost associated with the replacement of household machinery and pipes is a tough pill to swallow.

Traditional water softeners are not only expensive but they use electricity and require constant refills of salt. High levels of sodium are not recommended in drinking water and the result is purchasing bottled water – an additional expense. Britta filters and similar are costly and need replacing over and over again.

So what’s the answer? Best Water for You offers water vitalization devices that are a natural green technology solution to these common problems. They not only address the lime scale problem but offer several other benefits including almost total (99% or better) reduction of harmful contaminants. And even better – Best Water for You offers both in-house and portable solutions as well!

There’s nothing like a good steady rain after one has scattered grass seed around a barren lot. Good old rain – keeps us happy and healthy. But does it?

Rainfall isn’t as “pure” as you might think it is. I have been reading some excellent blogs lately about the transference of potentially harmful materials which are carried far and wide by the rain cycle. Remember studying the water cycle in school? Rain falls, evaporates, water droplets forms clouds, clouds become heavy and it rains once more. Well, what they did not tell me when I was in school (albeit that was many decades ago) or maybe I just wasn’t paying attention during that lesson (hmmm?!), raindrops condense around microscopic pieces of material. These tiny pieces of material are called cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) which may be particles of dust, salt, smoke, or pollution.

Nowadays since I moved to the Similkameen Valley, I can drive by beautiful orchards and fields admiring the blossoms and buds. I am aware that there seems these days to be a steady movement away from chemical sprays – herbicides and pesticides – which when sprayed on fruits and veg logic tells me they linger and enter the water cycle through rain, drainage, and evaporation. I applaud the organic growers and wish them well. Perhaps more will climb on the bandwagon. Interested in learning more about organic farming? Click here for SOOPA.

Finally! It has truly happened – spring! All my thoughts today were directly related to gardening. And with gardening, comes watering. That, a the annual bill from the Keremeos Irrigation District. As things go, we pay a very fair price for our water here considering we live in a semi-desert area in the Similkameen Valley. All the fields are irrigated and if a householder wants to have flowers, trees, shrubs, and vegetable gardens, we have to put in sprinkling systems and irrigations for our lovely tall emerald cedars. I want to have the best water I can have here (shall I mention Best Water for You?!) for my newly designed and still very far away from completed green space in the desert.

So how does your garden grow? Whether you are on well water or hooked to the municipal water lines, Best Water for You has a product to help you grow green, eco-friendly, and healthy.

I continue to explore my limited knowledge about water by reading blogs and articles. While doing so, I came across (thanks again Google) an article written by Rabindra Roopall. Rabindra reports that”only three per cent of the earth’s water is fresh, non-saline water. Of that non-saline water, 31% is accessible as fresh water. For every gallon of fresh surface water, there are 30 gallons that lie underground.
Water is held in underground reservoirs known as aquifers (water bearing rock). To collect in the aquifers, water passes through the atmosphere where it dissolves and collects atmospheric gases such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide. When it falls to the surface as rain, it is mildly acidic with a pH just below 7.

Seems to me that 31% of only 3% of our water being non-saline water, we need to put a much higher emphasis on water conservation. Here in Canada we are blessed with ample water supplies but still we waste a lot of water.

Best Water understands the value of water conservation which is reflected in one of four benefit statements: Orchards and vineyards reduce water consumption for irrigation while creating faster and better yields. Reduced water consumption and higher yields for profit. Now there’s a winner!
